The Super Eagles midfielder is yet to play a game this year, and he will still be sidelined for a while
Leicester City coach Enzo Maresca has revealed that Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will be unavailable when they play Leeds United in the Championship on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ndidi has been an important player for Leicester City this season. He was a regular for the team in the first half of the season, making 21 appearances and registering two goals along with five assists.
Unfortunately for Ndidi, he sustained an injury just before the Africa Cup of Nations, and he has been out of action since then.
Ndidi has missed Leicester City’s last ten games, and it does not seem like he will return to action anytime soon.
Ahead of Leicester City’s game against Leeds United on Friday, coach Maresca has revealed that Nigerian midfielder Ndidi will not be available for the game against Leeds United.
“The only one at the moment is Wilf (Wilfred Ndidi). He is still injured. One of our best players, or best position, is Wilf. When he’s not there, we used Cesare,” Maresca said per Leicester City’s official website.
“Now they’re not there, so we try to adapt. Unfortunately, Wilf is still injured.
Leicester City currently sit at the top of the English Championship, and they look very good to return to the Premier League. Ndidi is expected to return before the end of the season.
