Montpellier have won just four league games this season. They have drawn seven and lost six, and have just eighteen points in seventeen games.
English Premier League side, West Ham United, are working extensively to secure the services of Nigeria and Montpellier striker, Akor Adams, Soccernet.ng reports.
David Moyes’s side are just five points off the top five on the Premier League table, which sees them sit comfortably in 6th, three points above Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively.
The Hammers have scored thirty-three goals in twenty games, despite the absence of a target man up-front. Jarrod Bowen has had to fit in after Michail Antonio ruptured a medial ligament in his knee, with Mohammed Kudus occupying the right wing.
According to West Ham Zone, the Europa Conference League winners have scouts working extensively in the French League and are keeping an eye on Akor Adams.
Adams, 23, scored 25 goals in 46 games between December 2021 and August 2023 after bursting onto the scene with Norwegian side, Lillestrøm SK.
Last summer, the Nigerian striker moved to Montpellier, and immediately got to work, scoring a brace on his debut against Le Havre, and banging in another in La Paillade’s 4-1 win over Olympique Lyonnais.
The 23-year-old is third on the Ligue 1 top-scorer chart, just behind Wissam Ben-Yedder and Paris Saint-German’s Kylian Mbappe. Adams was also linked with A.C. Milan earlier this season as they look to replace the ailing Olivier Giroud.
Adams is yet to get a call-up by the Nigeria national team, although he has represented the Flying Eagles on two occasions.
