Fact Check: Victor Osimhen’s dope test happened after Guinea-Bissau match, not Cameroon

While initial information had been deemed partially accurate, Soccernet.ng can exclusively confirm that the Nigerian international underwent the test following the match against Guinea-Bissau, not Cameroon.

In addition, FC Nantes forward Simon Moses, the 2023 Confederation of African Football Best Player Of The Year, and William Troost-Ekong, have also been subjected to dope tests.

It's worth noting that such random tests are standard procedures, typically conducted on players whose enhanced energy levels may raise suspicions of substance use.

During the clash against Cameroon, Osimhen, formerly with LOSC Lille, played a pivotal role, posing a constant threat to the Indomitable Lions' defense and providing an assist to Ademola Lookman for Nigeria's first goal in that match.
