The Super Eagles forward has struggled to make an impact since he left Watford, but he is set to return to the club
Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis is set to join English Championship side Watford in a six-month deal, Soccernet.ng reports.
Dennis was impressive when he joined Watford from Club Brugge three seasons ago. The Super Eagles star registered ten goals and six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. But his goal contributions could not help Watford survive relegation.
Following the Hornets’ drop, Dennis joined Nottingham Forest in a deal worth €14.8 million, but he did not cut it at the club. Most of his appearances were off the bench, and he could only muster two goals and two assists in 25 games.
Eventually, Nottingham Forest sent him on a season-long loan to Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir, but his story has not changed. Dennis has been limited to just eight appearances across all competitions this season. Before the transfer window even opened, there were talks that Basaksehir were willing to let him go.
In a new development, per Fabrizio Romano, Dennis has completed a medical and is set to seal a move to Watford. According to the report, the 26-year-old attacker has taken a 70% pay cut to make the deal work.

The loan will last for six months, but there is no obligation to sign Dennis permanently. Watford currently sit 9th in the Championship, with 40 points from 28 games.
Coach Ismael Valerien would hope that Dennis hits his form of two seasons ago and spur the team to promotion.
