Osimhen just penned a new deal at Napoli, but he could be on his way out of the club soon
Football agent Dario Canovi has asserted that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli next summer despite signing a new deal, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen has been one of the hottest properties in the past year. Last season, the Nigerian striker helped Napoli win their first Scudetto in 33 years after banging in 31 goals. The 24-year-old hitman also became the first African to win the Capocannoniere last season, surpassing legends of the game like Samuel Eto’o and Liberian great George Weah.
Consequently, Osimhen has attracted interest from some top teams in Europe, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal all rumoured to be making moves to sign him. However, Osimhen refused to leave Napoli last summer. Instead, Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis started contract extension talks.
Napoli have been in talks with the Super Eagles star since the summer in favour of a new deal. However, both parties finally put pen to paper last week, with Osimhen signing a one-year extension until 2026.
However, with the extension, experienced transfer agent Canovi believes that Osimhen will leave Napoli next June.
“It is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion, he will go away in June,” Canovi said per Napoli Magazine.
There are reports that the release clause in Osimhen’s clause is €130million, and that would make an exit far easier for him. There is a strong possibility that he will move to the Premier League.
