The Super Eagles star has won the first three Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards this season following his displays for Bayer Leverkusen
Nineteen-year-old Atlético Madrid loanee Aghehowa Samuel Omorodion has joined some of Europe’s most exciting strikers in a key attacking statistic, Soccernet.ng reports.
Omorodion has gained recognition alongside Super Eagles winger Victor Boniface as two of the top five forwards in Europe’s top five leagues who have generated the most clear-cut chances.
Bayer Leverkusen star Boniface, who creates a chance every 47 minutes, is fourth on the chart behind the duo of Omorodion and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (45 minutes) and top man, Stuttgart’s Guirassy (39 minutes). Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez (49 minutes) arrives in fifth place.
Omorodion, though, remains the surprise inclusion on the elite list.
Relatively unknown at the start of the season, Omorodion’s prolific form with Alavés has not only marked him as a revelation but also positions him as a key player to watch.
Omorodion’s meteoric rise is evident in his impressive goal-scoring record, with the youngster netting four times in 12 appearances for Alavés, translating to a goal every 137 minutes.
Also considered is his goal against Atlético de Madrid while he was still with Granada, as well as two goals in five appearances with the Spanish U-21 national team, giving him a scoring rate of one goal every 101 minutes and 30 seconds.
In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, October saw ‘Samu’ crowned as the fastest player in La Liga, as he reached a staggering speed of 35.4 kilometers per hour — a distinction shared with Nico Williams of Athletic and Assane Diao of Betis.
