The Nigerian striker has made a big impression at Montpellier, and AC Milan could try to sign him next summer
Nigerian striker Akor Adams has stated that he is comfortable at Montpellier because of the way they have treated him since he arrived at the club, Soccernet reports.
Adams joined Ligue 1 side Montpellier from Norwegian top-flight club Lillestrom last summer in a deal worth €4.5 million. And since his move, he has surpassed all expectations.
The 23-year-old striker has scored seven goals in 11 appearances for Montpellier, and he currently sits second on the goalscorers’ charts. He is six goals behind PSG star Kylian Mbappe.
Following his impressive performances for Montpellier, Adams has attracted some attention from abroad, with AC Milan reportedly considering making a move. But nothing concrete has emerged from those talks yet.
Meanwhile, Adams has stated that he is comfortable in Montpellier at the moment because of the love they have shown him. He also believes that the environment at the club is great for him to grow.
“I am happy with my current situation and where I am. It’s a good environment to grow as a young player,” Adams said per Allez Paillade.
“I have everything I need here in Montpellier. I’m happy with my decision to come to a club that takes good care of me. I have a very good group around me. I am satisfied.”
If Adams continues with his current scoring rate, he could become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market next summer. And he may have to leave Montpellier eventually.
