“Osimhen will leave very soon”- Top journalist alerts Manchester United, Chelsea after Napoli’s viral TikTok video

The Super Eagles striker has been seriously linked with a transfer away from Naples in recent months, and with the latest events, he could be on his way out

Top Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba has stated that Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen will likely leave Napoli soon following the viral video that was posted on their TikTok account to mock him, Soccernet reports.

Osimhen has been arguably the best player at Napoli in the last two years. He helped the club to their first Serie A title in 33 years, registering 26 goals and five assists. In the Champions League, he also performed well, scoring five goals to help Napoli to their first-ever quarterfinal finish.

This season, he started with the same form, scoring three times in his first two games of the campaign. However, he has fired blanks for the last four games. His profligacy has inadvertently affected his team, as they have only won one of their previous four fixtures.

Following his recent lack of goals, Napoli released a video on their Tiktok, mocking the 24-year-old. This has sparked many reactions as the club has received a lot of backlash.

Nigerian journalist Oma, who is close to Osimhen, has also spoken up on the issue. He expressed his disappointment at the Serie A club's action, and he feels the Super Eagles striker is just one step away from Napoli's exit door.

“What Napoli did is a shame. It is unacceptable, distasteful, ridiculous for a club to do such a thing to not just any player but their best player. The best striker in Italy, a Balon d'Or nominee, in fact, the best player in the Serie A. Just because he failed to score in 2-3 games,” Oma said.

“The consequence of this is Napoli will lose Osimhen. In fact, this is the reason why the player hasn't renewed his contract.

“Can't you ask yourself why a player who is supposed to be very happy at your club has refused to renew his contract? Now, it is just one more year to go.

“What is going to happen is this guy who owns Napoli, who sees himself as the El Chapo of football business, will end up losing the player for nothing.

He invested about €70million in Osimhen, but instead of making a profit, he will make nothing.

Osimhen's contract will expire at the end of the 2025 season, but with the recent development, the Nigerian may refuse to extend his deal. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid were linked with the former Lille man last summer, and they may take advantage of the situation and try to sign him again.
