The Nigerian international has struggled for game time at the City Ground, but he could join the growing contingent of his compatriots in Italy
Italian Serie A outfit Udinese have intensified their pursuit of Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Dennis from Nottingham Forest as the transfer deadline looms, Soccernet.ng reports.
This interest follows our previous report confirming Dennis’s presence on Udinese’s transfer radar.
The urgency for attacking reinforcements became evident after Everton secured Portuguese forward Beto for a reported €30 million, locking him into a five-year deal. In light of this, Udinese have shifted their focus towards Dennis.
According to transfer market expert Nico Schira, the deal to acquire Dennis is inching closer to fruition. Udinese are ready to offer €8 million for the Super Eagles forward, presenting a four-year contract with an additional year option.
Dennis is likely to welcome this opportunity, given his struggle to secure a starting position at Nottingham Forest since his arrival last summer.
Last season, the 25-year-old featured in only six Premier League starting line-ups, with 13 appearances coming as a substitute.
His difficulties have persisted this season, as he has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League under manager Steve Cooper.
Despite these challenges, the former Club Brugge striker has contributed two goals and three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Nottingham Forest.
