The Nigeria international swapped Spain for Italy this summer, but his latest gesture shows he left real ties back in his previous home
Villarreal captain Dani Parejo has been touched by a heartwarming gesture from former teammate Samuel Chukwueze, who recently joined the ranks of Serie A giants AC Milan, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian winger presented Parejo with a signed AC Milan jersey, expressing his gratitude and friendship.
Chukwueze’s journey to AC Milan commenced with a momentous multi-million euro move, where he selected the number 21 jersey as his new identity on the Italian turf.
During much of his five-year tenure at Villarreal, the dynamic winger proudly wore the number 11 on his back.
Despite being immersed in training at the prestigious Milan Sports Centre in preparation for the forthcoming Italian Serie A season, Chukwueze has remained in close contact with his former comrades at the Estadio de la Ceramica.
In a touching display of camaraderie, Chukwueze gifted his Rossoneri shirt to Villarreal’s skipper, Dani Parejo, complete with a personal signature.
Parejo, overwhelmed with gratitude, took to social media to showcase the heartfelt memento while also sending warm wishes to his departing friend, saying, “This year you will rock.”
Chukwueze’s debut in Milan colours could end with a title triumph. AC Milan are set to face off against local rivals Monza, contending for the esteemed Silvio Berlusconi Trophy in what promises to be an enthralling showdown.
