‘Money is worth nothing’- Ex-Nigerian defender turn Serie D manager advices Al-hilal target Osimhen to stay at Napoli

Former defender turned Italian football manager, Matthew Olorunleke, has entered the discourse surrounding Victor Osimhen’s potential career move, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 39-year-old tactician has lent his counsel to Osimhen, who finds himself courted by Saudi Pro League’s Al Hilal with a sizable sum of Nigerian naira

However, amid Osimhen’s potential decision between a lucrative offer and leaving a lasting mark, the former Lecco has revealed that money is worth nothing and that the Nigerian should stay in Naples.

Osimhen’s football journey has garnered substantial attention, especially after his pivotal role in Napoli’s historic Serie A title win after a 33-year hiatus.

European giants like Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint Germain have expressed interest, but Napoli’s valuation of €150 million has tempered immediate transfer speculation.

But, Al Hilal, who have made Osimhen a priority after losing their chase on France captain, Kylian Mbappé, are willing to meet the demands of the Neapolitans and have reportedly agreed a personal term with Napoli as earlier reported.

Olorunleke, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb, counsels to Osimhen that beyond financial rewards, there lies a coveted legacy waiting to be etched.

“It’s good because money isn’t everything in life. If there isn’t the human aspect, money is worth nothing. I advise him to stay in Naples because Naples gave him the value he has today.” he said.

Speaking further, he revealed the danger of taking a path to Arabia, revealing that if he stays in Napoli, he would be worshipped more than leaving for Saudi League.

“The city of Naples is worth millions and millions, if he goes to Saudi Arabia, he is one of many, and while staying in Naples, he becomes an idol.

“Staying there increases his value both humanly and as a player. To date, the most representative player in Africa is Osimhen, and if he went to Arabia he would become one of many. And then if he were able to repeat what he did last year, he would become the strongest in the world,” he added.

The Nigerian, after picking a knock during training, has been predicted to miss Napoli’s first Serie A tie against Frosinone.
