Adams just joined Montpellier this summer, but he has been brilliant in their first two games
Nigerian striker Akor Adams scored Montpellier’s last goal in their 4-1 demolition of Lyon at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, Soccernet reports.
Adams informed France of his presence in the Ligue 1 last week after scoring a brace for Montpellier in their 2-2 draw against Le Havre.
After a remarkable performance on his debut, the 23-year-old attacker had to prove himself when his side traveled to Lyon in what was supposed to be a tough matchup, and he did.
Les Gones were no match for Montpellier as Arnaud Nordin put the visitors in front after 20 minutes. Adams almost doubled their lead in the 29th minute, but his goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
However, Montpellier added to their lead in the 39th minute after a solid strike from Mousa Al Tamari. The Jordan international then added to his side’s tally in the 66th minute to put the tie to bed.
Adams had a good game. He registered 33 touches, and helped defensively with two tackles. He finally got his goal in the 89th minute, after Alexander Lacazette had pulled one back for Lyon.
It eventually ended 4-1 in Lyon, and Montpellier would be looking to build on the result when they play Reims next week.
