The Nigerian striker just sealed a permanent transfer to Montpellier last week, but he has started showing his prowess
Nigerian striker Akor Adams scored a brace on his Ligue 1 debut for Montpellier, but his goals were not enough as they were forced to a 2-2 draw by newly-promoted Le Havre, Soccernet reports.
The 23-year-old striker left Norwegian side Lillestrom for Montpellier last week, but he made the starting eleven for the club in their opening fixture of the Ligue 1 at Stade de la Mosson.
La Paillade were favourites to win the game, but they fell behind in the 6th minute after a strike from Gautier Lloris. Le Havre managed to hold on to their lead for the remainder of the first half, but Montpellier bounced back in the second minute, and Adams led their comeback.
The 23-year-old Nigerian striker scored the equaliser in the 58th minute. Despite being surrounded by Le Havre defenders, he jumped highest to meet a cross and sent a powerful header home to make it 1-1.
Two minutes later, Adams was at it again. After getting played through on goal by Kiki Kouyate, the Nigerian striker showed his killer instinct to drive a wicked shot into the bottom right corner from the left side of the box and give his side eye lead.
Unfortunately for Montpellier, Samuel Grandsir scored in stoppage time to ensure it ended 2-2.
