The Nigerian midfielder has been a regular for Cincinnati FC this season, and he came up clutch for them at New York Red Bulls
Former Nigeria youth international Obinna Nwobodo scored a 92nd-minute winner for Cincinnati FC to help them to a 2-1 victory over New York Red Bulls, Soccernet reports.
Cincinnati have been on a good run in the Major League Soccer this season, and Nwobodo has played a vital role in their success. He has made 18 appearances for them in the MLS, as they sit atop the Eastern Conference.
They were looking to extend their grip at the summit of the East when they travelled to the Red Bull Arena to play New York Red Bulls.
Nwobodo started in midfield, but he could not stop his side from falling a goal down after 28 minutes. However, the visitors picked up the pace in the second half. Luciano Acosta scored the equaliser in the 80th minute to ensure a frenetic end.
Then Nwobodo turned up big for his side, scoring a beautiful volley in the third minute of stoppage time to ensure that Cincinnati FC stole a 2-1 victory in New York.
