Nigeria and FC Cincinnati midfielder, Obinna Emmanuel Nwobodo, has signed a contract extension with the Orange and Blue till 2027, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Flying Eagles midfielder has been plying his trade with Pat Noonan's side since exiting Turkish Super Lig side, Goztepe, in 2022.

The 28-year-old's contract was set to expire this summer, but with his extension, he'll be at the TQL Stadium until 2027, with the option to extend for another year.

In an official statement on the club's official statement, FC Cincinnati made it clear they were delighted with the services of the Nigerian midfielder over the years.

“Since arriving three years ago, Obi has been a fundamental part of our success.

“He’s relentless in how he approaches the game, on and off the field, and he’s an exceptional teammate and leader for our group. We’re delighted to have Obi and his family stay in Cincinnati,” wrote the club's general manager, Chris Albright.
