Dessers will soon have his medical as the deal has almost been completed
Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers will have his medical on Monday and Tuesday ahead of a transfer to former Scottish Champions Rangers, Soccernet reports.
Dessers joined Cremonese last season from Genk for €6.5million, but the transfer did not go as planned. The 28-year-old striker scored six goals in 26 appearances for the club, but it could not stop the club from getting relegated to the Serie B.
Following Cremonese’s drop, there have been talks linking the Nigerian with a move to the Scottish League with Rangers.
Earlier, Soccernet reported that Rangers had already agreed on a deal with Cremonese for the former Genk hitman.
Sport Witness now reports that Dessers will have his medicals on Monday and Tuesday. Rangers will pay Cremonese €5million for the transfer, which will be a four-year deal.
Dessers is a proven striker across Europe. Asides from Italy, he has played in Belgium and Netherlands.
He would be expected to play an important role for Rangers as they look to challenge Celtic for the Premiership title next season.
