The Gers have been in talks with Cremonese for weeks, but it seems both parties have reached a conclusion
Former Scottish Premiership champions Rangers are set to complete the signing of Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers, Soccernet reports.
Dessers joined Cremonese from Genk last summer after the Italian side had just got promoted to the Serie A.
However, it turned out to be an abysmal campaign for him, as he could only churn out six goals and two assists. His efforts were insufficient to keep the club in the top flight as they finished 19th and dropped to Serie B.
Following their relegation, there have been serious talks connecting Dessers with a transfer to Scottish giants Rangers.
The Gers have lost some attacking power, especially with the exit of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, and Scott Arfield. As such, they have seriously been in talks with Cremonese. According to reports, those talks have yielded fruits.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that Dessers’ transfer to Rangers is almost a done deal. Both clubs have agreed on a fee, and they need to draft the documents before the transfer happens.
Dessers has a lot of experience playing around Europe. As such, he could do very well at the club. He was the highest goalscorer in the Conference League two seasons ago, with nine goals for Feyenoord.
