Rangers have made Dessers their primary target this season, but Cremonese are unwilling to let him leave
Cremonese are demanding in excess of €6.5million before they let go of Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers, Soccernet.ng reports.
Dessers had a poor campaign with Cremonese last season. He was one of the new signings that the club made following their promotion to the Serie A last year. Unfortunately, his six goals in 26 games could not help the club survive relegation.
Following their drop to the Serie B, Cremonese are expected to lose some of their best legs, as they look to reshape and balance their books.
Dessers has emerged as one of the top players that may leave the club when the transfer window opens. Rangers have shown serious interest in getting his services, and it would be expected that they would get him at a cheaper price since Cremonese have been relegated, and the Nigerian striker did not impress last season.
However, Cremonese are not willing to let the 28-year-old striker leave on the cheap. According to Daily Record, the Grigiorossi will only listen to bids of at least €6.5million for the striker.
In Rangers’ history, they have only signed eight players for more than €6.5million. Considering Dessers’ proven goalscoring ability, the Gers may take that risk as they look to push for the Premiership next season.
Dessers have had a really impressive rise, congrats to them!
