Nigerian midfield sensation Daniel Daga has revealed that multiple clubs have expressed interest in signing him, Soccernet.ng reports.
Daga, who showcased his exceptional skills during the recently concluded 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina, emerged as one of Nigeria’s standout performers.
The talented teenager, hailed for his contributions in the heart of Nigeria’s midfield, garnered attention as the youngest player selected for Nigeria’s U20 squad at the tournament.
He exhibited consistent form, starting every game until Nigeria’s unfortunate elimination in the quarterfinals against South Korea U-20.
Daga’s remarkable performances have captured the attention of several top European clubs, leading to widespread speculation about his future.
In an interview with NigeriaInfo, he confirmed receiving multiple offers, including interest from AC Milan, Liverpool, Anderlecht, Watford, Club Brugge, and Midtjylland in Denmark.
However, the 16-year-old prodigy remains focused on selecting the ideal destination that will nurture his potential, much like Victor Osimhen did within two years.
“Yeah, many clubs,” he says when asked about the clubs looking for his services.
“Many clubs apart from AC Milan, Liverpool, Anderlecht. Many other clubs are looking for me – Watford, Club Brugge, and in Denmark, Midtjylland.
“It’s true they are all looking for me. But I’m not yet at the point because I’m looking for where I can play. Because in two years, I’ll be playing at the top like Osimhen.
“I want to see myself playing at Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd; play in the Champions League; play in the FA Cup, win the FA Cup and win Champions League in the next five years.
“Because I have the belief, the confidence, and boldness that I’m going to be there in the next five years, and I’ll be playing in the Super Eagles.
“I know Nigerians want to see me in Super Eagles and I believe myself to play in the national team. It may not be the time I’ll start playing yet, but I believe 100 percent I’ll play (for the) Super Eagles soon.”
Daga is currently on the books of Akwa Ibom-owned Dakkada F.C.
