AC Milan’s pursuit of Samuel Chukwueze has hit a roadblock, potentially jeopardising the transfer deal, Soccernet.ng reports.
While the Italians have already secured the signings of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and are on the verge of announcing a completed deal for American winger Christian Pulisic, they still have their sights set on acquiring Chukwueze for their right-wing position.
Although personal terms have been agreed upon between AC Milan and Chukwueze, negotiations between the two clubs, AC Milan and Villarreal, have failed to yield positive results thus far.
Villarreal are standing firm on their valuation of 35 million euros, a figure that AC Milan consider too high.
AC Milan, however, are not giving up just yet.
They will continue their discussions with Villarreal, hoping for a breakthrough in the negotiations.
Nonetheless, should the deal for Chukwueze fall through, the Serie A giants have prepared a contingency plan.
According to Milan News, AC Milan have identified Danish winger Gustav Isaksen as an alternative option.
This alternative move would be a more cost-effective solution, with the 22-year-old winger valued at 12 million euros by his current club, FC Midtjylland.
In addition to AC Milan’s interest, Chukwueze has reportedly attracted attention from various English Premier League clubs.
The Super Eagles winger has also refused to sign a contract extension with Villarreal, with her current deal expiring next year.
The Nigerian winger’s future remains uncertain as negotiations continue, leaving multiple possibilities open for his next career move.
