In play against Newcastle, Iheanacho and Ndidi were part of Leicester’s valiant effort to stay in the Premier League
Manchester United Legend, Gary Neville holds that Leicester City have a Premier League survival chance following their draw against Newcastle United, soccernet.ng reports.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi with the Foxes travelled to St James Park on Monday evening with the hope of securing a win which would safeguard their survival in the English Premier League for the next season’s campaign.
Following a draw against the Magpies, which handed them a Champions League spot for the first time in 20 years, Neville believes the East Midlands, on the other hand, still have a chance to stay in the Premier League.
In the last match of the 2023–23 Premier League season, Dean Smith’s team will host West Ham United at their stadium, while Everton—who are just two points above them—will play a tenacious Bournemouth team.
As the world anticipates a fierce final match day, Neville discussing on Monday Night Football, believes City now have a better chance of Premier League survival after earning a point against Newcastle United.
“What they’ve done tonight, Leicester is keeping themselves in with a better chance on the last day,
“They definitely have a better chance than last week – I thought they were finished, but they’ve shown something tonight.
“Look, Newcastle hit the post. They hit the bar, they’ve had multiple shots on target. Leicester have given us nothing apart from the last five minutes, where they had that chance with Castagne, but they’re looking for a mad final day, aren’t they, Leicester? That’s what they’re banking on – that something crazy happens at Goodison Park.” he said, as quoted by Leicestermercurcy.
With the Toffees sitting on top of the Premier League relegation table with 33 points, a win for Leicester (31) can still see them slightly surviving a demotion.
