“From the streets,” says ex-Chelsea star Drogba in response to Osimhen’s Serie A victory

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, previously disclosed to the public that Didier Drogba is his football hero after spending a lot of time watching him as a child

Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba has joined the globe in congratulating Napoli and Victor Osimhen on winning the Italian Scudetto, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian international, who scored the lone goal in Napoli’s triumph against Fiorentina on Sunday to clinch the League title at the Diego Marardona Stadium, has been the only player to score for them in the last two games after blasting in an equaliser against Udinese last week.

The Ivorian great, meanwhile, congratulated and lauded Osimhen for leading the Neapolitans to an outstanding 2022–23 season campaign in a social media remark on his post.

The 24-year-old attacker, notched 23 goals out of the club’s 70 total goals this season, and his contributions were crucial to their success in the Italian top division.

Osimhen’s idol, Drogba, wrote on Twitter, “Indeed Capo @victorosimhen9 from the streets of Nigeria to the World’s History books . Congratulations my Brother to you and your Club @en_sscnapoli”

The Super Eagles star and the former Galatasaray player are believed to have spoken several times. During that talk, the former player disclosed to the public that he occasionally offers advice to the Super Eagles star.

As a result, it has been claimed that Drogba may persuade Osimhen to sign for Chelsea during the next summer transfer window despite the fact that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has ruled out Osimhen’s move away from Naples.
