Watch: Terem Moffi’s ‘Sangalo’ goal against Basel is a contender for the Europa Conference League GOTW

The Nigerian star has three goals so far in three games for Nice in the Europa Conference League

The goal scored by Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi against FC Basel has been nominated for the UEFA Europa Conference League Goal of The Week.

The Nigerian star wowed the fans with a wonderful goal as he handed his team the upper hand in their Europa Conference League quarterfinal match on Thursday night at the St. Jakob-Park.

Following a tough challenge from Jean-Clair Todibo in the 26th minute, Zeki Median scores from the penalty spot ruining the Ligue 1 team’s chances of making it to the semifinals.

After a shot bounces off the defender of the opposition, Super Eagles star Moffi slides the ball into an open goal from close range, giving the home crowd fewer than ten minutes to enjoy their advantage.

A few seconds before halftime, Gaetan Laborde crosses a beautiful pass to Moffi, who scores a bicycle kick goal known as a ‘Sangalo’ goal in Nigeria.

Moffi’s goal was nominated for the competition’s Goal Of The Week and may be a contender for Goal of the Season in the Europa Conference League.

Amdouini, though, gave both sides a share of the victory when he skillfully dispatched a ball from Michael Lang to the left side of the opponent’s goal.

When Nice hosts the Swiss squad at Allianz Riviera Stadium on April 20, both sides will be fiercely searching for a winner in the doubleheader match.
