In the Europa League this season, the Nigerian forward leads with five goals and two assists

Nigerian attacker, Victor Boniface, has fired a warning to Bayer Leverkusen ahead of Royale Union SG UEFA Europa League clash.

The Super Eagles-eligible attacker has emerged as a key cog in the Belgian squad, helping his team advance to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The Nigerian player told soccernet.ng that when they visit Bay Arena this evening, he and his colleagues will heap more pressure on their quarterfinal opponent.

The team from Brussels is seeking to wreck further havoc on the German teams after knocking off Union Berlin in the Round of 16.

Recall that the Unionists defeated the Berliners 3 goals to nil at home in the second leg of the doubleheader contest after securing a 3-3 draw on their previous trip to Germany.

Following this, the 22-year-old in a conversation with Soccernet.ng acknowledged the importance of his side’s two-legged fixture against the Black and Reds.

“The game is really important. I’ve been dreaming of this kind of league, from watching the Europa League to playing in the quarter-finals against Bayer Leverkusen.” he said.

The Company’s Eleven have won all of their games since February, including victories against Ferencvaros on a 4-nil aggregate to progress to the quarterfinals and Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich in league play.

However, the former Bodo/Glimt player said that Union SG will still give it their hardest to win the first round of play.

He added: “They are good also, so it’s like a 50/50 game, but we are going there (Bay Arena) to give our 100 percent.”

Boniface, who is the second-leading scorer in the Europa League with one goal behind Marcus Rashford, is expected to feature for his team by 20:00 Nigerian time, and as well fire his team to victory.
