“We shall do everything possible” – Guinea-Bissau boss warns Super Eagles ahead of AFCON Qualifiers

The last time the two sides met, the Super Eagles were victorious, but Cande has warned that they will not have it easy this time

Guinea-Bissau gaffer Baciro Cande has warned that his lads are coming to get their pound of flesh when they square off against Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday.

The Super Eagles beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0 at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. It was a domineering performance from Nigeria, as goals from Sadiq Umar and Willliam Troost-Ekong sealed the victory.

Cande’s side were outplayed on the night, and that loss effectively knocked them out of the Nations Cup.

Both teams clash again in a doubleheader on Friday, and ahead of the game, Cande has warned that his lads are targeting a victory.

“We shall do everything possible to beat Nigeria in Abuja as revenge for the loss inflicted on us the last time we clashed at AFCON in Cameroon,” Cande told CompleteSports per Daily Post.

“It was a tough game and we gave it our best but lost. The quality of the Super Eagles gave them the victory.

“But we have improved and we have learned from our errors and we will ensure that we don’t repeat such again.”

Nigeria are overwhelming favorites to claim all three points. And they have further motivation knowing that a win would put one of their feet in the AFCON.
