Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester, but the Red Devils would have to pay a huge fee
Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has advised compatriot Victor Osimhen to move to Manchester United because he feels they are the best club in the world.
Osimhen has caught the attention of many top clubs with his eye-catching displays. After struggling to perform in his first season, the Super Eagles striker got into his strike last season, scoring 18 goals in 32 games.
This season, the 24-year-old striker has been outstanding. He has been the major protagonist for Napoli, scoring 21 goals in 25 games. His goals have helped the Partenopeans to first place in the Serie A and the round of 16 of the Champions League. He is also currently the highest goalscorer in Serie A this season.
Osimhen has attracted interest from some of the top clubs in Europe. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG have all been linked with the former Lille man.
However, Nigeria striker Ighalo, who spent a year at Manchester United has advised Osimhen to join the Red Devils.
“An attack composed by Rashford and Osimhen at Manchester United would cause panic in any defense,” Ighalo told Sky Sports PL per Napoli Magazine.
“They are very fast players and great goalscorers. If Victor asked me what to do, I would tell him to go to Manchester because they are the best club in the world.
“Osimhen is a great striker, he plays as if he went hunting. He does not give the defenders a breather for 90 minutes.
“He puts constant pressure on opponents. He fights in all the action and fearlessly puts his head on every ball, even taking risks.
“That’s why I think it would be a great coup for Manchester United. He reminds me a lot of Didier Drogba for his hunger for goals, for his desire to put his foot on every ball.
“We talk often. We compliment each other when we score goals. We don’t talk about the transfer market, his agents take care of this.
“But if Victor If he asked what to do, I’d tell him to go to Manchester. Because for me they are the best club in the world,” Ighalo added.
Napoli are aware of interests from other clubs, and they have set a high bar. President Aurelio De Laurentiis is known to be an astute businessman, and he would not let his star player leave without collecting a huge fee.
