Iwobi was stretchered off in the 51st minute of Everton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United last week, and he faces a short spell on the sidelines
Everton has revealed that Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi suffered an ankle ligament injury in their 3-1 loss to Manchester United last week, and he will be out of action for three weeks.
Iwobi had to be stretchered off early in the second half of Everton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United after he went down off a tackle from Tyrell Malacia.
Judging by how he twisted his ankle, there were initial fears that his injury would be a long-term injury.

However, all that was soon put to rest as his father revealed, as per Soccernet that Iwobi would only be out for top-three weeks.
Everton has now corroborated the story via a release on the club’s website.
“Alex Iwobi is expected to be out for around three weeks with the ankle ligament injury sustained against Manchester United on Friday,” the statement read.
“The Everton midfielder was taken off on a stretcher early in the second half of the FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.
“Scan results on Saturday confirmed a lateral ligament injury that will be managed conservatively by the Club’s medical team at Finch Farm”
Iwobi should be back in action by the first week of February.
