The exciting Nigerian winger has spent two years in Portugal but he could be ready for a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues
German Bundesliga campaigners
Hoffenheim are interested in signing Super Eagles winger Saviour Godwin from Primeira Lig side Casa Pia, says foremost Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
According to the report, the Germans have made Godwin their top priority ahead of a possible transfer during the winter window in January.
Godwin, who joined Casa Pia on a free transfer in 2020, has a contract that binds him to the Geese until June 2024.
And after helping Casa Pia gain promotion to the top flight after several decades in the second division, Godwin has seen his rating skyrocket.
The former KSV Roeselare recruit was close to leaving Casa Pia in the summer after Brazilian giants Corinthians showed keen interest in his services.
But the two clubs could not agree on a deal as Casa Pia wanted more than the two million euros proposed by the former Brazil champions.
Godwin has since impressed in the Portuguese premier championship and made his international debut in September for three-time African champions, the Super Eagles.
And Hoffenheim may have to cough out more than twice that amount to convince Casa Pia to part with one of their most prized assets.
26-year-old Godwin has three goals and one assist in 13 league games for Casa Pia this season.
