The Super Eagles striker has been unsung in recent weeks, but he took it to a whole new level against Charleroi
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu scored all four goals for Genk in their 4-1 destruction of Charleroi.
After failing to score in Genk’s 3-1 spanking of KV Mechelen last week, Onuachu was looking to get back into his groove when the Smurfs played hosts to Jupiler League strugglers Charleroi.
Genk started the game on the front foot, and within eight minutes, they won a penalty.
Onuachu took on his penalty duties, and he made no mistake from the spot, converting to make it 1-0 for Genk.
The Smurfs did not rest on their oars and kept pushing for more goal. They then got their ward just five minutes after the half-hour mark.
Onuachu met a cross from Tresor Ndayishimiye and sent a strong header from close range to make it 2-0.
Charleroi looked strong in the second half, but they were bo match for Genk. Onuachu scored two goals in the second half to complete his haul and ensure a 4-1 win for Genk.
Onuachu’s haul makes him the first Genk player to score four goals in a match after Wesley Sonck, who did it against Exelsior.
