The Saints sacked Ralph Hasenhüttl a few days ago after spending four years as the club manager
Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo will be working with Nathan Jones after the 49-year-old was announced as manager of Southampton Football Club.
Southampton announced the appointment of Jones on Thursday morning (November 10) via the club’s official channels.
Until his appointment, Jones was the head coach at lower league side Luton Town. He has inked a three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at St Mary’s until the summer of 2026.
Jones is highly rated in the second-tier of English football as he was recently named the Championship Manager of the Year.
Before Nathan Jones’ arrival, Joe Aribo has featured in fourteen Premier League matches, ten as a starter. The 26-year-old Nigerian midfielder has scored two league goals.
Despite Aribo’s contribution, Southampton have struggled for form with the Saints managing only three wins in 14 matches, losing right others.
That poor record has left the club in the relegation waters, two points above the bottom club, Nottingham Forest.
New manager Nathan Jones begins his tenure with a difficult away trip to Liverpool this weekend.
