Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate has named a 26-man squad to fight for honours at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
The trio of Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori, and AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham will not participate at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
England manager Gareth Southgate did not include the three players in his 26-man squad for the Mundial set to kick off later this month.
All three players are of Nigerian descent, but two have already committed their international future to England.
They will, however, be disappointed at missing out on the global showpiece despite their brilliant performances in recent months.
Fikayo Tomori was one of the key defenders that helped AC Milan become champions in May after wrestling the Italian Serie A title from Inter Milan and Juventus.
Tammy Abraham was the joint top goalscorer as a Jose Mourinho-inspired Roma lifted the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League also in May.
Eberechi Eze has been a revelation in the English Premier League since joining Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers last year.
While Tomori and Abraham have made three and 11 appearances for the Three Lions, 24-year-old Eze is yet to feature for the 1966 world champions.
Eze’s omission could, however, be a blessing in disguise for Nigeria, with the NFF known admirers of the talented playmaker.
England’s manager Southgate, however, included Arsenal attacker Bukayo Saka – also of Nigerian parentage – in the squad for Qatar 2022.
My childhood dream to play in a World Cup has come true !

Madison over Abraham? Maguire over Tomori? Lol. Racism will never stop. It serves them right. Life is about choice.
I love what I am seeing. This should serve as a warning and a lesson to eberechi Eze, Michael olise and the rest. For me I don’t see it as racism, England is only letting them to know that they were supposed to answer their Father’s Name. If care is not taken The Three Lion might not play saka. Gareth Southgate will do anything humanly possible not to lose the game.
I have always doubted if all these ‘ Nigerians ‘, will make it far in England. There is a glut there and I don’t see how they will allow a Nigerian domination in that team. All those who are doing ‘ Jakpa ‘ today, will soon realise that all that glitters is not gold. Only hard work by Nigerians can develop this country in all fields; not illusion
I don’t see any racism here, the facts is that some Africans players will never be proud of their motherland, they prefer to play for foreign countries than that of their parents especially those born overseas. They forget that they are not son of the soil of those countries even if they are citizens. The coach is English man, he will! not leave his country man behind to pick a foreigner except you are indispensable to his winning strategy. Learn brothers, home is home, be proud of what u have.
It’s just Racism Bros! Look at Leicester City Football Club. Madison makes all sorts of mistakes still the coach continuously play him over Iheanacho. It’s about time Iheanacho and Ndidi leave that mediocre club. Now they are still in their prime
It’s racism. Let’s call it what It is
you are very wrong Madison is better than Abraham you could have talked about Maguire epl isn’t easy
You have lived all your life abroad( good one compared to being in Nigeria ) and you have excelled in your chosen carrier using their facilities to groom your talents; now the opportunity has come for you to bear your father’s name, you are claiming Oyinbo and they have served you the best meal of disappointment by snubbing you..Great lesson for upcoming stars
