The German tactician has spent the last three years at St. Mary’s, but the Saints have decided to call time on his stay after a series of poor results
Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo will be getting a new coach soon, as the club have confirmed that they have sacked Ralph Hasenhüttl.
The Austrian tactician was employed at St. Mary’s in 2018. The former Leipzig boss has recorded some poor results in recent years.
Hasenhüttl was in charge when Southampton suffered a 9-0 drubbing from Manchester United and Leicester City. However, the Southampton board always kept faith in him because he always managed to keep the club afloat in the Premier League.
This season, Hasenhüttl has been very poor at Southampton. The 55-year-old has lost eight of his 14 Premier League in charge of the Saints, leaving the club in 18th.
Hasenhüttl becomes the fifth Premier League manager to be sacked this season after Bruno Lage, Scott Parker, Steven Gerrard, and Thomas Tuchel.
Super Eagles midfielder Aribo joined Southampton during the last summer transfer window. However, he would have to adjust to a new manager and new ideas.
Nonetheless, Aribo is a professional and has the quality to fit into a good system.
