Supplier-in-chief! Outstanding Iwobi helps Everton beat Crystal Palace

The Toffees have been unfortunate in the last two weeks, but Iwobi helped them return to winning ways

Super Eagles midfielder supplied two assists to help Everton to a resounding 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Everton were on a three-game losing streak when they welcomed Crystal Palace, who had not lost their previous three. However, form was thrown out of the window when both teams took to the pitch at Merseyside.

The Toffees started the game on the front foot, and it took them just 11 minutes to break the deadlock.

Iwobi showed great composure weaving past Palace players and placing a precise path into the path of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who struck a wicked shot past Guaita in the Crystal Palace goal.

After conceding, Crystal Palace settled into the game. Chances fell to both teams, but they failed to convert.

The Eagles started the second half very strongly, piling the pressure on Everton, but Frank Lampard’s lads stayed strong.

Everton’s efforts soon paid off, as Anthony Gordon doubled their lead in the 62nd minute.

The Toffees then put the final nail in the Eagles’ coffin in the 84th minute, and it was a peach of a goal.

Dwight McNeil and Iwobi played some intricate passes together, then the Nigerian laid off the ball the McNeil with a cheeky backheel, who made no mistake from close range, firing home to cap it at 3-0 for Everton.

Asides from his assist, Iwobi had 53 touches, 86 percent pass accuracy, and two tackles. The Nigerian star was voted the player of the game for Everton.

The win takes Everton above Crystal Palace on the Premier League table on 11th, albeit on goal difference.
