The Nigerian defender contributed a goal as the Italian side claimed their fourth league win of the campaign
FC Torino manager Ivan Juric has applauded Ola Aina for helping the club defeat Udinese at the weekend.
Ola Aina was among the goal scorers for Torino, converting via an expertly drilled left-footed finish to help his side seal a deserved 2-1 win away from home.
The goal was Aina’s first of the season and his second for Torino since joining from Chelsea.
Aina’s strike also arrives at a time when the Nigerian full-back is enjoying a consistent run in the Torino lineup.
After months of playing second fiddle to Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo, Aina has seen more action this term. The Super Eagles star has made ten league appearances, seven of which have been starts.
Head coach Juric admits the former Chelsea man is a fantastic player. But he also warns Aina not to let complacency set in as he could very much be replaced.
“Singo? For now Ola Aina is playing and even today he played a great game,” Juric said via Corriere dello Sport.
“He (Aina) is a great player, he is doing very well. When he drops then it will be Singo’s turn. Right now Aina gives me more guarantees.”
Aina’s first goal for Torino came during the 2018-2019 season while he was still on loan at the club.
