The Greens want to improve on their 13th-place finish last season, and they believe the Super Eagles star could help their cause
Egyptian Premier League club Al Masry have announced the signing of Super Eagles striker Anthony Okpotu from Qatar SC in a two-year deal.
Okpotu made his name while playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League for Lobi Stars. His brilliance earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles in 2017.
However, the 28-year-old has gone into obscurity in recent years. Okpotu left Lobi Stars for Moroccan side Difaa El Jadida in 2018. He then moved on loan to Albanian side KF Laci a year later.
Okpotu returned to his Moroccan employers at the end of a season, after which he signed permanently for Tunisian side US Monastir. The former Lobi man spent a year in Tunisia before joining Qatar SC in 2020.
Well, Okpotu is not done with his travels yet, as Egyptian club Al Masry have confirmed that he would in the books of the club for the next two years.
Okpotu becomes the fourth signing at the club after they secured the services of Marwan Hamdi, Abderrahim Deghmoum, and Imadeddine Boubekeur.
He would look to help the team improve on their 13th-place finish of last season.
Okpotu has 12 caps for Nigeria, with three goals to his name. The last time he played for Nigeria was in 2018.
