The Super Eagles striker has been linked to various clubs this summer, and a transfer could be concluded soon
Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar is set to become the second-ever Nigerian to play for Spanish Laliga club Real Sociedad.
Umar had a fantastic campaign with Almeria last season, scoring 18 goals in 36 games in the run-up to Rojiblancos’ Laliga Smartbank triumph.
This season, the Super Eagles striker has continued with his brilliance, scoring twice in Almeria’s opening three Laliga games.
Umar’s brilliant displays have not gone unnoticed, as he has attracted interest from several top teams. Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad have been identified as some of his major suitors.
However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Real Sociedad could conclude a move for the 25-year-old soon.

Los Txuri-Urdin made over €60million from the sale of Swedish talisman Alexander Isak and they believe Umar would be the perfect replacement for the Newcastle man.
The transfer is expected to be around €30million according to Almeria’s General Manager Mohamed El Assy, which seems like a decent fee for Real Sociedad.
If the transfer takes place, Umar would be the second-ever Nigerian player to play for Real Sociedad after retired Super Eagles star Mutiu Adepoju.
