The award-winning Nigerian hitman has been linked with a move away from the Jupiler League throughout the summer, and it appears a deal would soon come to fruition
Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is expected to complete his move to Italian Serie A new boys Cremonese next week according to reports.
The Super Eagles star shone like a million stars during his loan stint at Feyenoord last season.
The Nigerian poacher found the net ten times in the maiden season of the Europa Conference League, claiming the Golden boot. However, the Castle Lords refused to retain his services.
Since his return to Belgium, Dessers has refused to commit his future to Genk, making statements that suggest that he could be on his way out of the club.
Still, the 27-year-old has been professional, making a brilliant start to the Jupiler League campaign with four goal involvements in Genk’s opening two games.
Dessers has been heavily linked with the Grigiorossi in recent weeks, albeit news of a possible Copenhagen move has lingered.
According to Napoli Magazine, Dessers is set to complete his transfer to Cremonese next week. And he is expected to sign a five-year contract with the newly promoted Serie A side.
The Super Eagles striker would become the Grigiorossi second most expensive signing, as Genk would receive at least €5 million for the transfer.
Dessers’ fee would only be second to the €10 million Cremonese paid Club Brugge for David Okereke in July.
