The Super Eagles midfielder has been a regular name on the Everton team sheet this season and has added the missing part to his game
Alex Iwobi assisted Anthony Gordon to give Everton an opener before Leeds’ Luis Sinisterra’s equaliser canceled their lead.
Iwobi, again was in high spirits playing in a deep-lying playmaker role alongside Amadou Onana.
While Everton are yet to record any win this season, Iwobi has stood out in performance and has powered them on with his form and consistency.
“I’ve seen him a lot before he came here and I know what he can do in a deeper role. His attributes are great defensively – size, physicality and sometimes today, he could be in that role where he’ll bring a lot of energy with Alex Iwobi who was fantastic again tonight, ” Frank Lampard, the Everton manager and former England star said.
“For Amadou (Onana) to come in to the Premier League and show what he’s shown in the last two games is amazing. He had to come off at Brentford because he was tiring. He’s a huge player for us,”
Iwobi has started in all four Everton league games this season and also started against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.
His new-found form has received praises from Evertonians as he’s currently seen as the most important player in the club.
