The former Club Brugge forward has teamed up with the new Serie A side after his former club, Venezia got relegated
David Okereke has teamed up with US Cremonese ahead of the new Serie A season.
Okereke was impressive last season in Venice but his efforts weren’t enough to keep Venezia afloat in the league.
The attacker who has also represented Spezia in the past is yet to earn a Super Eagles call-up but has shown an interesting ability since he began his European sojourn.
A statement by the club said; “U.S. Cremonese announces that it has definitively acquired the right to David Okereke’s sports performances from Club Brugge. Born in Lagos (Nigeria) on 29 August 1997, striker, Okereke in Italy plays first for Lavagnese and then for Spezia.
“With the Ligurian team he made his debut in Serie B in 2016 and reached 59 appearances, scoring 11 goals. In 2019 he leaves Italy to move to Club Brugge. With the Belgians he won two editions of the Jupiler Pro League, took the field a total of 71 times (11 in the Champions League alone) and found the way to the net on 15 occasions. In the 2021/22 season he returns to Italy to get to know Serie A closely: his experience at Venice ends with 7 goals in 32 appearances. Okereke also has a presence with the Nigeria Under 23 team.”
