The newly-promoted side have completed the signing of the Club Brugge forward to bring the number of Nigerians at the club to two
Venezia have announced the signing of David Okereke on a one-year loan deal. The 23-year-old arrives from Club Brugge after two years at the Belgian side.
Okereke becomes the club’s second Nigerian signing this summer after Tyronne Ebuehi, who also joined on a season-long loan deal from Benfica.
The Venice-based side beat Sampdoria to secure the signature of the nimble-footed Nigerian after weeks of speculation on his next destination.
After a difficult start to the 2021/22 Jupiler League season that saw him start just one of three games, it became clear that the Nigerian was not going to play a significant role in Philippe Clement’s plans for the Blue-blacks this season.

The versatile forward who scored four goals in 25 league appearances last season will hope to improve his goalscoring returns as he moves to Italy.
