The Serie A campaigners are in the market for a classy deputy for their Austrian attacker and are eyeing a move for Lorient’s leading man
Italian side Bologna FC 1909 have identified Nigeria and Lorient striker Terem Moffi as a possible transfer target this summer, according to authoritative Italian publications Corriere Dello Sport.
The report claims Bologna are pleased with the performance of Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic, but the Rossoblù want a capable support striker for the former Inter Milan ace.
After arriving from China, Arnautovic smashed 14 Serie A goals in 33 games for Bologna last term. The 33-year-old former West Ham star is set to lead the line once again for the Red and Blue next season.
Bologna are, however, in the market for a deputy for Arnautovic and have lined up Groningen striker Jorgen Strand Larson as their first-choice signing.
Larson netted 14 goals in the Netherlands elite league last season.
But negotiations are not proceeding as planned with the Eredivisie club for the young Norwegian attacker.
Should that deal collapse, however, Bologna have lined up Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi as the ideal plan B.
The Nigerian striker scored eight Ligue 1 goals for Lorient last term, a bit short of the 14 he managed in his debut campaign.
Moffi is a big fan of the English Premier League, but a move to Italy would represent a step up from the French top flight.
The young forward was previously linked with moves to Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, and Borussia Dortmund.
