However, it appears that both parties have concluded, as reputable transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Awoniyi has put pen to paper to join Nottingham Forest this summer.
“Nottingham Forest have signed all the paperwork for Taiwo Awoniyi deal with Union Berlin. It’s done and sealed, agreement completed,” Fabrizio posted via his Twitter page.
“£17m release clause triggered and Liverpool will receive 10% of the transfer.”
Awoniyi was in Liverpool’s books for six years but he was unable to feature for the Merseyside giants due to work permit issues.
