Lukaku could be out of Stamford Bridge this summer, and the blues could replace him with a Nigerian striker
Former English Premier League champions Chelsea could swoop in for Victor Osimhen to replace Romelu Lukaku if the Belgian attacker leaves this summer.
It has been a regrettable season for Lukaku. He has plunged from being the chief cornerstone for Inter Milan in their title triumph to being a peripheral player for an ailing Chelsea.
The 28-year-old attacker has failed to repay the €113million fee Chelsea paid for him last summer. The Belgian forward has made 40 appearances this season, recording twelve goals and two assists.
Lukaku is unsettled at the Bridge and could move on this summer.
However, Chelsea couldn’t be bothered, as he does not seem to fit into Thomas Tuchel’s setup. Nonetheless, the Blues would be searching for a replacement if the big Belgian leaves. And according to GFFN, the two-time Champions League winners could target Osimhen.
Osimhen has been linked to various clubs, but Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle are the forerunners.
The Nigeria international has been sensational for Napoli this season, scoring 17 goals and assisting six in 29 appearances.
The blues have a challenging task luring Osimhen as Napoli could capitalize on the interests of other Premier League clubs and increase their asking fee.
