The Super Eagles star had a brilliant strike in the game, but it was just a consolation
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has shared his disappointment after Leicester City’s 3-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. Still, he is ready to move on from the defeat and focus on their next games.
It was yet another disappointing outing for the Foxes, as their efforts were not enough to pick a win in North London. Goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min gave the lily whites a three-goal cushion, causing Iheanacho’s fantastic stoppage-time goal to be a mere consolation.
The Foxes matched Tottenham in midfield and had more of the ball, but they failed to create much against Antonio Conte’s lads.
The loss meant that the Brendan Rodgers-tutored side had failed to win their previous four Premier League games.
Iheanacho is disappointed with the result, but he is ready to trudge on and has urged his teammates to do so.
“We are really disappointed in the game,” Iheanacho told Leicester CityTV.
“We lost, and obviously, we played well in both halves. We were moving the ball quite well.
“But I think what changed the course of the game was the duel. But obviously, we are always together when we win and when we lose.
“So we won’t dwell on it, we’ll move forward, and hopefully we’ll sort that out, and we’ll focus on the next games.”
Leicester City has a chance to right their wrongs when they square off against Roma in the second leg of their crucial Europa Conference League tie on Thursday.
