The black and whites are in search of reinforcements in their attack, and they have identified the Super Eagles star as a decent fit
Former Super Lig champions Besiktas are looking to prise Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu away from Genk this summer.
Besiktas are searching for reinforcements this summer, as top hitman Michy Batshuayi is set to return to Chelsea at the expiration of his loan deal with the club.
Batshuayi scored 14 league goals for the black and whites last season, but they could only stutter to a sixth-place finish in the Super Lig.
With the imminent departure of Batshuayi, Fotomac reports that Besiktas have identified Onuachu as a decent fit, and they have already started talks with Genk for a potential transfer.
Onuachu’s stock rose last year after a record-breaking season that saw him score 33 league goals in 38 games.
The 28-year-old had a pretty unsettled campaign at Cegeka Arena last season, with the forward remaining at the club despite stating his desire to leave. Onuachu saw his numbers suffer as he had 21 strikes in 35 games.
However, injuries played a significant role in his reduced returns.
Nonetheless, Genk would look to make at least €20million from a potential sale, with Atletico Madrid also linked with the former Midtjylland star.
