Everton have struggled under Frank Lampard as they battle relegation and a place in the Premier League next season but their Nigerian export has shone too.
Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi’s goal against Newcastle United has won the Davanti goal of the month award for March for the best goal scored by an Everton player.
Iwobi’s late winner had proven to be all Everton needed in the game as it made the difference on the night.
A tussle in the midfield saw Seamus Coleman win the ball and played Iwobi through. Iwobi found Everton attacker, Dominic Calvert-Lewis close to the 18 and the attacker took a beautiful heeled pass back to Iwobi who’d arrived in the box.
A beautiful left-footed finish helped Everton win the game in what could potentially be their most important of the season.

Iwobi may also be in line to be named as one of the club’s best players at the end of the season having enjoyed a significant turnaround in playing time under Lampard.
Everton moved inches closer to safety when they defeated Manchester United during the weekend with Iwobi playing a major role in the game.
