Former Super Falcons captain joins Chinese champions

Former captain of the Super Falcons, Desire Oparanozie has joined Chinese Women’s League side, Wuhan Jianghan FC.

Wuhan Jianghan are the current winners of the Chinese Women’s League and will have the services of the Nigerian international attacker.

Oparanozie was signed ahead of the 2022 league season which is starting next week.

The former Dijon attacker announced her move in a tweet and said; “Beginning of a new chapter for a few more prints on the sands of time. The journey continues, this time in Asia.

Oparanozie has represented Guingamp in France and also played at Wolfsburg in Germany.

The 28-year old attacker also represented Bayelsa and Delta Queens in Nigeria.

She has scored 22 times in 35 games for the Super Falcons and is rated as one of the best players in the team.

A former youth international, she has represented Nigeria at the World Cup and is hopeful of attending more for the Super Falcons.

The powerful number 9 was stripped of her Nigerian captaincy after standing up for her teammates on the way they were treated by the NFF.

Wuhan Jianghan is her seventh club abroad.
