It is about a year since he left the Premier League, but Odion Ighalo could return to England’s top-flight next month

Super Eagles and Al Shabab star Odion Ighalo could make a return to the Premier League after reports emerged that Newcastle are interested in the forward.

The 32-year-old is not a stranger to the Premier League, making a name for himself in the colours of Watford. He scored 40 goals and assisted 11 in 100 appearances for the Hornets.

However, he left Vicarage road after two seasons to join the Chinese side Changchun Yatai. The former Granada man then returned to the Premier League, joining Manchester United on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January 2020.

However, after a one-year stint at Old Trafford, Ighalo rejoined his parent club in China.

Nevertheless, the 32-year-old could have a third spell in England, as reports from Sky Sports suggest that Newcastle are looking at recruiting Ighalo in January.

The Magpies have been in bad shape this season, sitting currently in 19th position in the Premier League. But with the entrance of their new owners, they are set to splash the cash in the next transfer window to help preserve their status in the Premier League.

Ighalo could help their cause as he has been on fire in the Saudi Professional League, scoring nine goals in 13 appearances this season.

That’s a good move by the newly appointed interim coach Austin Eguavoen by selecting those players and I strongly believe that they will do their best… good luck super eagles
