Fans troll Ndidi after he was embarrassed by Kante in Leicester’s loss to Chelsea

The Nigeria international returned to club action following the international break, but he could not help the Foxes avoid a defeat against the Blues

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is the butt of jokes from fans on social media after losing his battle against France international Ngolo Kante.

The Nigerian international replaced Kante at Leicester in 2017, after the France international left for Chelsea in 2016.

When Ndidi joined Leicester, Kante was the best defensive midfielder in the world, and he is still seen as the best by some today.

However, Ndidi’s performances for the Foxes since he replaced the World Cup winner have also put him in the conversation.

And ahead of the clash between the two sides on Saturday afternoon, some fans made an argument for Ndidi as the better player between the two.

However, the Nigeria international was second best throughout the encounter as Kante put up a midfield masterclass to help Chelsea to a 3-0 win and go six points clear at the top of the Premier League, courtesy of goals from Antonio Rüdiger, Ngolo Kante and Christian Pulisic.

The World Cup winner had an 85% pass accuracy, while he also made two interceptions and two tackles, respectively.  He managed three shots on target, with one ending in the back of the net, which happens to be Chelsea’s second.

In contrast, Ndidi had just 67% accuracy, made two tackles and just one interception. But the highlight of their battle was when Ndidi slipped after he was embarrassed by Kante’s body movement.

Following the game, fans could not resist trolling him for that particular moment in the game.

Meanwhile, Ndidi’s countryman, Kelechi Iheanacho, came on at half-time, but he could not save Brendan Rodger’s men defeat, either.
