Raphael Onyedika wins top award at Club Brugge

The young Nigerian midfielder has been in impressive form lately, and he has been rewarded for his performances

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has won the Player of the Month award for April at Belgian Jupiler League side Club Brugge, Soccernet.ng reports.

Onyedika has been quite consistent for Club Brugge this season with 44 appearances under his belt across all competitions. However, he has been rejuvenated since Nicky Hayen took over from Ronny Deila in mid March.

In April, the 23-year-old midfielder was in superb form, registering three goals in seven games. He put in a great shift in midfield in all those to ensure that the former Belgian champions won six of their games and drew one.

Following his consistent brilliance, Onyedika was nominated for the Player of the Month award alongside goalkeeper Nordin Jackers and Michal Skoras.

In a new development, Club Brugge announced that Onyedika claimed emerged on top, beating Skoras and Jackers. It is the first time the former Midtjylland man will be winning the award since he arrive two seasons ago.

Onyedika will look to continue his brilliant performances for Club Brugge, as they look to reclaim the Belgian Jupiler League title. If they win all four remaining domestic games, they will win the title. Also, they are in the semifinal of the UEFA Conference League, where they will take on Serie A side Fiorentina.
